It often begins the same way. I am alone in my studio. I have very few things there: a chair, a table, one or two pencils, a photo camera, a video camera. I stare at the wall, I stare at the ceiling. I imagine myself doing something impossible, like floating in the middle of the room; jumping up to the ceiling and staying up there for a long time; becoming very small; or standing on my head. Then I move. I draw myself or take a picture. I try to transform the room into a place in which unexpected things happen. I try to transform myself into something that surprises me, and I try to find the point in which I don’t look like myself anymore at all.
